ABOUT ALMOND WATCH
The Quiet Mind
Ash MacLaren's blog posts are based in Romans 8:6: "The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace." (NIV) Along with many others, Ash suffers from the "Monkey Mind," a Buddhist term meaning "unsettled; restless; capricious; whimsical; fanciful; inconstant; confused; indecisive; uncontrollable," and captured wonderfully in Romans 8:6a as the "mind governed by the flesh." From a Christian perspective, that Monkey Mind is death, so Ash blogs about the Quiet Mind, the one "governed by the Spirit" to abide with God for life and peace.
The Barefoot Expositor
Jeremy is fascinated with the Bible in its cultural context. We call him the "Barefoot Expositor" because he is not a Bible scholar but explores the Word of God like an adventurer would. Oh, and that's not an actual photo of him on the left; Jeremy Keannan is a pseudonym for a collection of Adventures here at Almond Watch.
The Barefoot Expositor writes about the cultural context of the Bible, generally, and in particular, about the Jewishness of Jesus. This blog category is chief among the other categories found in the Almond Watch website. There's an eBook in the works.
Anointed for Business
The Anointed for Business blog posts are designed for the business owner whose senior business partner is God. Not all Christians are called to traditional ministry. Rather, many are called to manage their businesses according to God's principles. This blog is for them.
Like Ash MacLaren and Jeremy Keannen, Josh Collier is the name given to the authors who write collectively about one particular topic. The pen name "Josh Collier" is given to those Christian business owners that are devoted to operating their businesses with God's principles. So as to not use Almond Watch as a marketing tool for their businesses - lest we get off-topic - we share what we learn as we operate our business in faith, leaning into Jesus's instructions in Matthew 6:34:
"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes." (MSG)
Almond Watch Content Manager
Taylor Hughes manages the Almond Watch blog and content. It is her voice you hear as Podcast host. She gets into blogging, too, from time to time with Proverbs 31:25 (NIV) as a foundation:
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
